The deep weathered soils that are common in Southern Africa require the structural load to be transferred to a competent geotechnical founding via piling.
Our capabilities include auger, mini & micro, as well as perimeter piling (in combination with lateral support).
The most commonly used pile type in South Africa for larger pile loads is the auger methodology. The advantages include installation in a very short time, no vibrations due to the rotary augering technique, and pile sizes ranging between 300mm – 2500mm diameter. Auger piles can be designed in end-bearing or friction in cohesive soils, depending on the loads and geotechnical conditions.
The new mini & micro technique can be drilled through any sub soil conditions and socketed into bedrock to cater for uplift forces of the structure. The design can be adapted for either permanently cased piles or Hollow bar piles all dependant on the structural loads provided
